Meet Danielle, Your Creative Homegirl she/her 

“The sun shines twice as bright when you get creative.”Danielle is a wife, mom, public speaker, workshop instructor, and self-proclaimed creative homegirl. A Kansas City native now calling Reno home, she is the artist behind Second Sun Studio, where she transforms reclaimed textiles into joyful 3D artwork, handcrafted gifts, and tactile craft experiences that inspire creativity for all ages.Raised by two educators, Danielle grew up believing learning happenseverywhere—from thrift stores and museums to libraries, gardens, and cultural events. She earned a degree in Theatre Performance with training in set design, costuming, and stage management before building a career centered on creativity, customer experience, education, and advocacy. She later earned a Master’s degree in Human Relations, blending her passion for community, representation, and lifelong learning.Her creative journey has been recognized through accomplishments including Runner-Up in the Carol Roberson Art Competition, the 2012 Alvin Ailey Arts & Performance Scholarship, participation in the 2026 Artown Community Mural, and local artist and vendor opportunities within Reno, Nevada.Today, Danielle combines sustainability, storytelling, and tactile design through workshops and fiber art experiences that encourage curiosity, connection, and joyful making. She believes creativity is for everyone—and that the sun shines twice as bright when you get creative.
